As affiliate marketers we have the luxury that most people would love to have. We’re able to work from pretty much anywhere. The one constant that we require is an internet connection, and you figure that should be pretty easy to find in most places right?

Oh noes, no interwebs.
Well, unfortunately for me is wasn’t today. It took me around 30 minutes just to find an AT&T wireless hotspot, and then I had to pay $3.99 per 2 hour block, which I am on my first but undoubtedly not my last 2 hour block.
I’m currently stuck out in Youngstown Ohio and there’s hardly anything around here. I found a mall that had a Starbucks in it and I thought they had free wifi. So I went up and got something to drink and pulled out my computer to get on and get some work done.
However like I said it wasn’t free. I know a lot of affiliates travel worldwide all the time, I can’t do that right now because of college. However my tip for today is to get an air card from your cell phone provider.
I’m looking into the 3G air cards now from AT&T but I’m not entirely sure which one to get. I’m also trying to figure out how much it costs for an air card with unlimited usage monthly. However AT&T seems to want to keep that hidden away on their website.
If your a budding affiliate and you want to be able to work from anywhere, I definitely suggest you invest in an air card of some sort. That was a lesson learned the hard way for me today, mainly to my gas tank.
I hate driving to begin with, especially when I have no idea where anything is. So if I’ve taught you anything yet, heed this, buy an air card!

Your own personal air time card from your cell provider is the best option for affiliate networks on the go. Also, if you are thinking of a new cellphone (love it or hate it), but the bullet and get an iPhone. With it’s very capable Safari browser, you can use the iPhone for doing spot-checks of your campaigns and make minor tweaks like pausing, bid changes, etc. on the go without needed a full blown computer.
I have an iPhone and I love it. It is great for working on smaller things, like if you have to pause a campaign in an emergency…*cough* Direct Tracking going down AGAIN. Or if the campaign is no longer active, but it really can’t be a full out computer.
It can do a lot but I need it to do more!
