The other day when I was looking at one of the easily customizable, tweak-everything-from-the-dashboard, “affiliate themes” I thought of something. Well, lots of things actually but for the most part I thought about how human beings are so afraid of the things that we do not know. Even if it may not be to our advantage or even be logical to be afraid of something in the first place. Case in point: web design languages. For the most part, any affiliate or internet marketers that you see who are very successful have at least a firm understanding of the basics of the majority of the “internet computer languages”.

And it is a good idea to be this way, too. So many people think that you have to be a fully certified, computer language guru in order to be able to do something with it. But in fact, this is very far from the truth. One of the BEST ways of learning some web design computer languages is to learn by doing. Luckily, we live in the time of the search engine, where any possible question that can be posed can be quickly researched and usually answered in no time at all. If you want to learn how to do something with a computer language, just search for a tutorial or walk through on one of the search engines and you’re golden!

If you can get a basic understanding of all of the different languages that you use online then you decrease the risks of ever coming upon a situation in which you cannot succeed. Sure, these no-programming-required themes are great and all, but aren’t we sacrificing the ultimate level of customization by using them? The computer language is the very CORE of what the website is. It’s like what’s under a hood to a car. Shouldn’t you at least TRY to get your feet wet with some of the languages? I mean, what’s the worst that can happen?

We should always be challenging our minds to learn as much as possible in general, but we should DEFINITELY be doing it in our own business. The more you know and the more alternate routes you have that you can take to whatever problem may arise can only be a good thing. And this luxury only comes from constantly striving to acquire knowledge.

If you’re interested in learning some of the basics, I’ve provided a few links to some of the more high-quality tutorials on the Net to whet your appetite!

You’re welcome!
