Sleep and the Internet Marketer

I mentioned in a previous post about how Internet and Affiliate Marketers tend to have a screw or two loose characteristics wise. You have to – it’s just a cut throat type business. But further expounding on this, there is a lot of Internet Marketers, at least the ones that I know, who view sleep as some type of mortal enemy. In this business, the more work you put in the more chances you’ll have at running a successful campaign. So naturally, a lot of people who are in this business usually don’t get as much sleep as your average human being.

While I’m not condoning a 1-2 hour per night sleep schedule, it would definitely behoove you and give you the upper hand on any competition you may have if you get a short but solid sleep at night and cracking the moment your alarm clock goes off the next morning. This isn’t a 9-5 type job despite what many people think and the more hours you have taking a stab at all of your ideas and campaigns, the better chance you’ll have at making money. It’s quite simple.

This can of course, like most things, be taken to the extreme so you’d definitely want to make sure that you’re careful and don’t go overboard. But a little less sleep and a little more coffee might be just the thing you need to finally get out of the slump you’ve been in conversion wise.

Nobody ever said this business was easy so if this sounds like too much for you then well, it doesn’t necessarily make you wrong. But if you’re anything like most successful marketers out there, than you’ll be willing and able to do absolutely anything if it’s going to give you a better shot at pulling in more cash.

So go ahead and go through with buying that espresso machine you’ve always wanted, it could pave the way to your newfound success with Java stones and early morning dew!

Steve Pavlina has some absolutely fascinating articles on polyphasic sleep…which shows how we internet marketers can cut down to 3 hours in 24 and still be awake between sleeps. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/10/polyphasic-sleep/

Steve went back tp regular sleeping hours after 2 years because the rest of the world wasn’t following his excellent example.

I am definitely suffering the perils of sleep depravation this month. After 2 months of failing to launch successfully in affiliate marketing, I am now starting to throw shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. I know this is a preferred method to success for some, but I prefer more methodical strategies to affiliate marketing.

I have signed up for PPC Coach to get back to basics, but being stuck in Month-1, my affiliate offers are so limited especially with scrubbing being thrown into the picture. I have only been doing this for 2 months, so it’s not time to throw in the towel, but I also cannot keep bleeding. After much trial and error, it is obvious that the US market is too difficult to penetrate. I am also frustrated with not being able to see US offers operating out of Canada, so I may just have to stick to Canadian offers only.

Will I be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel soon? Or should I just get some good sleep for 1-week and get back at her full force. How long did it take you to go from nothing, to something?

Great site. Keep up the good work. Melvin.
