This first post is a very basic introduction to PPC affiliate marketing. The topics will become more and more advanced as the week goes on. Some of the posts will be much larger than a typical post, and in a long tutorial style format. I hope that everyone learns something out of this!

Pay Per Click advertising (also called PPC for short) is a type of online advertising that has enormous potential for increasing both traffic to a website, as well as the web presence itself of any size business, though as an affiliate marketer, you will find it particularly useful in helping you reach your goals.

Simply put, pay per click advertising is a marketing method wherein a small ad is placed on the results pages of a search engine. The ad that is displayed at any given time will be related to the keywords or key phrases that the search engine user entered in. This is done in exchange for a specified payment (often called a bid) by the advertiser each time a visitor clicks on that ad. As an advertiser, you do not pay to have the ad actually appear on that search engine results page, you only pay when someone clicks on it. And that’s how Pay Per Click advertising gets its name you pay when someone clicks.

It sounds simple when you put it that way, and it is, but the tricky part comes into play when it comes down to actually making it work for your affiliate campaigns. Choosing good keywords and structuring an ad correctly are the keys to creating pay per click ad campaigns that actually work after all, if you are going to be paying for these clicks, then you want to make sure they convert,
right?

Before we get into the nuts and bolts of PPC advertising for the affiliate marketer itself, you need to have an affiliate network or two under your belt. If you do not have an affiliate network at the moment, the following are a few that I have personally used to great effect:

 Motive Network
 Convert2Media
 Express Revenue
 Ads4Dough
 NeverBlueAds
 Market Leverage
 CX Digital

Once you have chosen a network, then it is time to get down to the business of creating a profitable Pay Per Click campaign, from start to finish…

I should add that sometimes it takes time to get approved to a network, and they like it when new affiliates have websites and a plan to drive traffic.
