Internet Marketing Tools: Clicktale

It always surprises me incredibly that so many people aren’t available of a little tool called Clicktale. Basically, to summarize what it does exactly, Clicktale is a service that allows you to literally watch what a particular person does when they are surfing on your landing page or other kind of website. There are things called a heatmap which show which sections of your page that are “hovered” or focused on the most and you’re actually given the option to record a certain percentage of visitors that you get. You literally just watch a recording of what their mouse was doing EXACTLY during the whole time period and also which sections of the web page were read the most or had surfers reading of looking at them the longest.

I don’t think I really need to say how incredibly beneficial this service is — especially when you consider that you can use the information and statistics from all of the data that is kept and just tweak and edit your landing page or website accordingly so that it will mesh better than what you had up originally.

It’s kind of spooky or creepy when watching the very first recording, all most you’re like stalking or spying on the person but this feeling quickly goes away when you realize that this service can garner you a HUGE edge when it comes to generating more conversions, leads, clicks — whatever it is that you need.

All you have to do to set up the service (there is a free and paid version) is paste some basic code into certain sections of your website code and voila! They provide some very easy-to-understand instructions and while it might sound a tad complicated it definitely is not. Once again, there is a free version and a paid version with the free version featuring just a certain number of recordings and also not as much information/stats/data that is provided to you. The free versio itself is incredibly useful and doesn’t suffer the shortcomings or disappointment that you feel over many other free versions of a paid product.

All in all, Clicktale is definitely worth a look if you’re interested in increasing your overall conversions as well as if you want to feel like you’re an NFL QB going over gametape — but an affiliate/internet marketing one. Instead of studying what a defensive backs tendencies are on post patterns we instead study what a web surfers tendencies are when provided with an overly-long but very suspensful flog on toenail fungus cures.

Loop11 is another tool for usability research. THis one actually lets you create online user tests. If you can’t afford a usability consultancy to do it for you, this is user testing you can do yourself.
    Check it out: http://www.Loop11.com.

Did you know they also have an affiliate program through ShareASale?

You can get feedback, visitor information and also do survey. I am using since last couple of days and looks pretty good.
