Google Adsense

Adsense is definitely not my favorite way to monetize a site, I typically find there are a lot of better ways.  However I recently purchased a website that was running on adsense and I’m not sure if I know of a better way to monetize it.  It’s actually a pair of sites.

Both sites were setup with adsense and the pair of sites generates around $500 a month with it.  They are both very niche sites.  The two sites are http://www.escapetheillusion.com and http://www.gallacticemessages.com.

The sites were definitely worth the purchase price, of course we have to keep updating content to continue to bring in the revenue, and since I don’t have the time to do that myself and I don’t know much about the niche I pay my writer at Katemiah to do it.

So the sites generating money but definitely not as much as I would like it to.  Have you guys ever had websites that generate decent income but take too much to maintain for it to be that worth it?  I’m looking into some affiliate banners but as you can tell there won’t be a lot of related offers.

As an update, I’ve (obviously) made it to Ohio and I’m on vacation right now spending time with the family.  Sorry I didn’t post for the last two days but I’m trying to keep it up.  It’s not snowing like in the picture, although the airport was very interesting, I’ll post the pictures when I get them uploaded.

Let’s just say theres a big blob of blue security employees standing around doing nothing while we all stand in line to get checked in.  It was definitely an interesting experience, although when they actually decided to work we got thru pretty fast.
