Just as we are creatures of comfort in our everyday lives, we are also creatures of comfort (at least… some of us) when it comes to picking out the next set of affiliate campaigns we’re going to be running. For the most part, lots of people like to go with the flow and pick the popular offers that many of their affiliate friends or running, or they like to go with the offers that look very easy to build on and convert with. While doing these things isn’t necessarily wrong per se, you are limiting yourself to the extreme. There’s a whole other world out there of affiliate campaigns you probably barely even knew about!

So instead of just going through and carefully selecting out which offers you want to run as if you’re walking around barefoot on broken glass, just go ahead and pick some random stuff. Granted, if you see right away that a particular offer is converting horribly or not performing well than you can skip it and still technically follow the exercise.

So go ahead and pick about two-three offers (or more if you’re willing to do them) and write them out on a list. Now study this list and try to get as creative as possible and really think of some unique and effective ways that you can run these campaigns. You might be feeling sick to your stomach at this point because you’ll be outside of your element and wishing you could just bail at the drop of the hat. Fortunately for you though, you’re not going anywhere…

Now take the campaigns that you’ve selected and worked on and go ahead and test them a bit to see how they do on the conversion side of things. Odds are the abysmal conversion % that you thought the offers would probably have will indeed not to very badly at all. The most important thing about this entire exercise though, in addition to getting you out of your comfort zone and trying new affiliate offers, is that it will give you a very, VERY good chance at finding some potential offer gems.

So step out of your comfort zone and get going on your way towards expanding your affiliate marketing horizons. You may even enjoy an increase in what you were previously pulling in from affiliate marketing! Does that sound like fun? Of course it does, now get going and don’t hold anything back!

I’m on the plane back to my apartment in Orlando Florida, and I learned a lot of things this week about using my time wisely.

First off though, this plane ride definitely leaves much to be desired. When I first got onto the plane I thought it was starting out great when nobody was sitting in my row. However it quickly turned bad when the people in front of me tried to put the seat belt on their child, he’s been screaming ever since take-off, which is part of the reason that I am blogging instead of sleeping.

Then the same people, decide that they are going to push their chairs all the way back and not move for the rest of the flight. So the result of that is me typing in a cramped area. The vacation as a whole was a lot of fun, I was happy to spend time with my family, and I honestly don’t want to go back to Florida. Most of you are going to think I’m nuts but with everyone I love in Ohio, I would rather it than Florida.

Moving onto how to manage your business while on vacation. I really didn’t want to have to worry about what was going on with my company while I was away. So what did I do? I didn’t, I didn’t worry at all.

My team on the design side of the business was still taking care of everything that had to be done, and my affiliate marketing campaign stood strong. As affiliates we have to make sure that everything is running smoothly because it is our income, and our campaign stats are the lifeblood of that income.

It’s hard for some of us to just stop and not worry about how are campaigns are doing, but we have to have fun sometimes!

Checking stats obsessively is something a lot of us have trouble with and it’s really counter-productive. More times than not you will hurt your campaign by pausing it too early and losing what could have been a winner, than you will save a loser from losing too much.

Use your downtime on vacation wisely. It all depends on what kind of vacation your on but a lot of times you will have a downtime of some sort almost every day. For example, my downtime was mainly when Katie was in school and I was waiting for everyone to get out of work.

If your on a vacation with others than you will still likely have downtime, when your riding places or your waiting for everyone to meet up with you. Also when you turn in for the night, right before you go to bed. Basically you need to use this downtime to check updates on your campaigns for your one time that day. Check your email and make sure that everything is running properly.

Make sure that your only running campaigns that are stable, and long term. Don’t try to make campaigns right before you leave because you won’t have time to monitor and tweak them.

If you have any campaigns that have been very unstable or that you have to constantly keep an eye on, pause them! It’s vacation don’t worry about every little thing.

Obviously you have to keep your income going so you can recruit some help to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Talk to your affiliate managers! Tell them that you are going on vacation and ask them to please monitor your account closely.

I am sure that most affiliate managers would love to help you in any way possible if you have built a strong relationship with them. Just ask them to watch conversion rate, if the percentage drops drastically then have them email you personally or even call you.

The last and most important tip I can give you is to have fun! Affiliate marketing is a great job that allows you a ton of freedom, make sure that you use all that hard earned money to really enjoy life.

Live your life to the fullest every day and you won’t regret a day of your life.

Hey guys, I just wanted to put this post up to talk to you about what I am going to do on this blog. As most of you can probably already tell, this blog is meant to show you how to make money. A lot of the topics will be about affiliate marketing however most topics will mesh pretty well with any kind of online advertising, and sometimes any kind of online money making period.

I’m going to try to post once a day and we will see how well I do with that. I want to really help you guys get going. I’ll introduce you to a few of my services in this post so you know where you can go for help. I’ve tried to set up several services to help out affiliates because I want to help you guys get to where I did – I can’t have all the fun!

The first service that I set up was a forum, it’s called AffPros. This site is meant to help affiliates will all types of questions. It’s slowly picking up the pace user wise and it could use a lot of questions by budding affiliates to help it grow. Myself and my staff frequent the boards quite a bit and we would love to answer your questions.

I’m also in the process of writing several e-books on the subject of affiliate marketing. The plan for those is to help show you techniques that work, I’m not going to tell you that you will make $10,000 a day by sleeping like some e-books on the matter do. I just want to bring across the facts to you. Those e-books will be announced in this blog when they come out, and they will be housed on Katemiah Creation’s website(website is not up yet). If you don’t know what that is, it’s my corporation. You can learn more about it by visiting the website.

I just wanted to welcome everyone to my blog, after a few weeks of posts nobody will really read this one anyway so I’m going to end it quick without putting too much pertinent information out there! I hope you enjoy the blog and make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed and my newsletter to keep up to date on whats going on.
